    1. JD Disables Data Connectivity (3G & 4G). Requires restart to fix. [LG Revolution, v2.3.4]

      Latedroid Devs:

I hope this finds you well and in excellent spirits conducive to problem solving! I hope you are also in reach of your reading glasses; as in an effort to include all the information you will need I have written what is--I am almost certain--a report of above average length. However, I have separated the report into different sections to ensure ease of reading. This report is similar to one posted by another user almost a month ago (link: http://bit.ly/u8qP4e), but I am not convinced it is the same issue. Regardless, the previous report fails to adequately… more

Awesome investigation! And on top of it, a really enjoyable piece of writing. Well done!
This is my very limited understanding so far:
        - The Revolution has two radios, one for good ol’ CDMA/EvDO, one for LTE – as demonstrated by having two networks listed in phone status (this seems to be in agreement with the fact that integrated chipsets haven’t been available until very recently)
        - Apparently instead of having a properly integrated radio firmware that “abstracts” the two chips into a single entity, LG “patched” LTE on top of the old radio interface layer; it is unclear how “close to the surface” of the Android architecture this hypothetical patch gets, but it’s sufficient to wreak havoc in the APIs used by JD. However if this is the case it seems strange that the Froyo radio firmware didn’t have these issues – why would LG make things worse… more

      • MMs sending / receiving not working

It would be really awesome to implement a way to enable mms sending.. it uses the data APN. But its really anoying when im at home and try to send mms.. the data is turned off since im at home like i said and its trying to use wifi to send which is impossible so i have to manualy disable wifi or juicedefender in order to send that. i just wanna make the exeption in messagins apps to SEND the damn mms via mobile network. i tryed using the APP list and selecting messaging app or handcent but it does… more

        • Timeout Function / Screen off

This may be an issue for other phones as well but it certainly affects the HTC Thunderbolt. That is, with the timeout function enabled, everything works except the screen lock. When it comes time for the screen to lock, instead of locking the phone, Juice Defender will turn on the display and restart the countdown. It seems as though JD tries to enable the lock screen but something is preventing it from happening, so thus the screen turns on in result.

I have concluded that this is indeed the fact as whatever time I set my lock screen timeout too(whether… more

          • Galaxy S2 Juice Defender 3.8.0 Ultimate - Wakeup Problem

Got the Galaxy S2 and Juice Defender 3.8 ultimate. Since then, after every night, my phone won't wake up. i have to hold down the power button and restart it. Then I can see in the Battery overview, that my phone tries to wakeup since hours and so the battery is draining really fast in this time. I've read in another forum that juicedefender causes this problem. Have you already heard of that? are you fixing this in the next version?

                1) I’m pretty sure the Apps trigger doesn’t work on MIUI for some reason (a reason for which MIUI is to blame, that is)
                2) Some users have reported that either setting or unsetting the “keep in memory” option for the launcher app will magically fix the problem (some ROMs/alternative launchers have the option somewhere in the settings, in other cases you have to edit the build.prop file)
                3) It seems likely that apps that in general significantly alter (e.g. take over) the screen will adversely affect app detection. Examples include (but not limited to) lockscreen replacements.

So after taking note of the 3 points above, please try to address each of them and report your results! Hopefully we’ll gather enough info to figure out what’s going wrong.

Things should go back to normal on the next update. Logcat is removed, no more permission, JD is back to keeping its own log. I decided that bugs such as this PLUS all the complaints about the READ_LOGS permission aren’t worth the 1 to 4ms performance increase on every logged operation.

                  • Data enabling takes long

We have been hearing some users complaining that data enabling seems to take "longer with 3.8.0?

                    • Android Sync / Schedules

Gmail, Friendstream, facebook etc all use Android "Accounts and Sync", which I assume is what JuiceDefender triggers every 15 mins? (SyncAll)

But TweetDeck has its own sync schedule for each of your columns. Unfortunately I seem to find it nigh on impossible to get JD to co-exist with TD so that TD sync's within JD's small 1m window of opportunity.

Any ideas how JD might work with TweetDeck better? (or any app that doesn't use Android's stock sync method?)

What does it say in the log?
The first thing to try is to proceed as follows:

                            • uninstall JuiceDefender and Plus/Ultimate if you purchased them: home/menu/settings/applications/manage applications/(find JuiceDefender)/uninstall
                            • reboot your phone (turn it off then on again)

If the problem persists, try JuiceDefender beta, as it usually contains several specific fixes over the stable version:

                            • uninstall JuiceDefender

Additionally, it might occasionally happen that your configuration gets corrupted or anyway unusable; to solve this:

                            • uninstall JuiceDefender
                            • delete the JuiceDefender.backup file in your “Download” folder on your SDcard.
                            • reinstall JuiceDefender, do NOT restore your settings
                          • Wifi disables with 'keep on wifi' setting

I am on 3.9.4beta and have the following enabled settings with UJ:
controls: Wifi (Auto disable), AutoSync (Ping)
                            keep on: Wifi
                            location

                            nothing more.

As you see I only use JD to manage my wifi based on location and keep it enabled if available, but sometimes wifi automatically disables if screen goes off while the rooter is in 1-2m distance. In the wifi advanced settings I have 'Keep Wifi on during sleep' set to Always and if I disable JD it keeps connected.
imho the 'keep on wifi' setting is not 100% working. do you need any more details to… more

                            • Mobile data stops waking up

JD Ultimate on HTC Incredible S (Android 2.3.3): the restore of the mobile data (on screen or on schedule) stops working after a while. JD says that mobile data is on and shows no error in the log, but the mobile data does not restore.
This does not happen at first (eg after a reboot or JD restart), looks like the disable/enable of the mobile data works for the first cycles, but after a while it will no loger come up.
Tried the beta too and had no improvement.

I keep getting the message in the logs "Error Getting Mobile Data State"
After the error, JD turns my data on again that wastes more battery life.
I have the paid version of JD and also have tried the beta.

                                Anything else I can do?

What is your device? Have you tried:
Please uninstall JuiceDefender and any addon you might have installed (Ultimate or JD +), reboot, then delete the JuiceDefender.backup in your “Download” folder on your SDcard.
Then install the latest version of JD and any addon you bought prior.

Stock HTC Evo 4G with Gingerbread (2.3.3) installed. Since applying latest HTC Software update (build 4.53.651.1) I have been having problems with my Mobile Network setting getting randomly turned off. Thought it might be an incompatibility with JD and this new build, so I disabled JD. But it was still happening. However, when I uninstalled JD completely, the problem went away. So now I am thinking it was a compatibility issue with JD and this new build after all. Have you had any other Evo users report a similar problem? Has it been addressed in the latest beta of JD?… more

                                    • mobile data autofix -- BROKEN

The mobile data autofix on the phone is incredibly buggy. When waking the phone from the lockscreen with MDA enabled, the phone tries to reset the mobile connection, but it not only doesn't work, it shuts off the cell network too. The only fix is to restart the phone. Not much of a fix if you ask me. Samsung Droid Charge using 3.5.8 beta. Even worse, I can't send my log anymore in this beta because it will not accept typing when it transfers to my email program.

With JuiceDefender removed it doesn't happens, but the Battery Drain is quite high. Also JuiceDefender slows down the Phone very heavily. And the third Problem is that the Location Based turning off of WiFi doesn't works properly, so Wifi gets turned on even if I'm 50 kilometres away from the stored location, which has a precision… more

Ok lets cut the problems down to single ones :)

                                          1) Mobile Data Freezing: What exactly do you mean by “freezing” ? Not coming back on? Did you try the mobile data autofix under the about tab?

                                          2) JD does need more RAM than other apps which benefits the CPU usage. Where and when does JD actually “slow” your phone down? All the time, when you open the app?

                                          3) About location please check this thread:
                                          https://latedroid.uservoice.com/forums/70437-feedback/suggestions/1053061-faq-how-location-works

                                          4) What version of JD are you on? Did you try the latest beta?

                                        • default android browser isn't listed in configure apps

I have Galaxy SII, 2.3.4 stock fmw. In triggers, configure apps, I cant find the default browser to trigger connection. I tried beta (3.8.0) and stable version.
