I was looking through my JD logs recently, and I'm finding that JD is allowing several of the apps I have configured as "enable" to activate connectivity, even when they are not running. For example, these are entries from the log I saved earlier today:

My battery was far below the set threshold of 50%, and none of these apps were actually running or in the foreground. I hadn't opened Amazon's Appstore for a couple days, hadn't opened TappIn in a long time, and hadn't used the browser (Miren) for several hours. I checked Running Services, and none of these apps had a running service listed there. I thought recent releases of JD had fixed configured apps problems with services by only enabling connectivity if an app set to "enable" was running in the foreground? Why were these apps able to turn on connectivity even though I didn't even open them? Is there any way to fix this?

I'm running a stock Photon 4G running Android 2.3.4 with JD Ultimate beta v3.6.6

When I'm at my home on the home Wifi network (a known location - fully trained in JD), when I turn on the screen, Wifi tries to connect, but simply hangs. I go into the network settings and the Wifi status says "Obtaining IP Address..." but it doesn't include from where.

It's not until I disable Wifi and reenable it, does it say "Obtaining IP Address from [my home network]" and I get a Wifi connection.

If I do not do that second part, the Wifi simply hangs and JD moves on and enables my VPN. This never happened on my Evo so I'm wondering if it's the Photon, or something has changed in JD???

I do not understand the UI. Some buttons are blue, some are green, some are red, light great, dark gray, etc. Them, some are outlined in colors. Some work like radios, some checkers, some dimly work at all.

I have not found any explanation what the various colors mean.

Although the design is visually attractive, it's not providing use clues and it didn't follow existing conventions for buttoni widgets. As a result, the powerful and highly configurable program is much more difficult to use than it should be.

I wish buttons were designed to follow common standards, and documentation discussed the widget conventions used.

In ultimate, none of the configured apps are being recognized. It also isn't picking up anything even though the interactive option is selected. The only program that is ever noticed in the drop down notification area is Juice Defender, in parentheses. Since no other app is ever recognized in this area, data is always disabled.
For example, the only thing JD ever says in the notification area is: Data off (Juice Defender)

Opening market, dolphin browser, or any other app does not work or even show up. It doesn't matter if I preconfigure it and give it access or let the interactive option pick it up. Nothing ever happens. It looks like it just doesn't notice any other apps, so it doesn't bring up the interactive menu or allow data.

I'm not exactly sure when this problem started, but I first really noticed it several days ago. It was working perfectly fine before this. Right now, I have to temporarily enable connection before, and every time I need to do anything that requires data.

I've tried multiple times to: uninstall, reboot, then reinstall both JD and JDU, and any combination there is. I've also tried JDB downloaded from: latedroid.com/latestdev

Any ideas?

i've been using the same settings for a while now, and do use location-based wifi, and everything's been great. however mlb at-bat updated last week and now the audio stream stops immediately after the screen turns off. this never used to be the case. it is set as enable/screen off, and hasnt been changed since it was working. disabling JD lets the app stream to its heart's content, but JD, or something, keeps killing the stream instantly when the screen goes black. what's odd is that the stream buffers quite a bit of time ahead. i can stream via wifi at work, disable wifi on the way to my car, and it will play the whole 15 seconds until i'm buckling up. In contrast, when the screen turns off manually or automatically, the stream ends almost immediately, maybe 5 seconds later. it had been working great all season long until very recently.

i use many other apps "enable/screen off" without issue. wifi doesnt get turned off, but the audio stream stops anyway.

when the screen goes off, the log says "Force-enable app running: MLB.com at-bat", but the audio quits anyway. when i turn the screen back on, it says "screen on" (user present), and then "no configured apps are running". It never says 'WiFi disabled', but the audio stream stops. if i wait >30 seconds after turning the screen off, WiFi is still on. the log never says it was disabled, and the icon is still in the notification bar, but the audio stream had stopped long before. when i disable JD the audio stream neevr gets interrupted.

i do have traffic enabled, plus screen (user present), and obviously apps configured.
