JD Disables Data Connectivity (3G & 4G). Requires restart to fix. [LG Revolution, v2.3.4]
Latedroid Devs:
I hope this finds you well and in excellent spirits conducive to problem solving! I hope you are also in reach of your reading glasses; as in an effort to include all the information you will need I have written what is--I am almost certain--a report of above average length. However, I have separated the report into different sections to ensure ease of reading. This report is similar to one posted by another user almost a month ago (link: http://bit.ly/u8qP4e), but I am not convinced it is the same issue. Regardless, the previous report fails to adequately… more

Awesome investigation! And on top of it, a really enjoyable piece of writing. Well done!
This is my very limited understanding so far:
- The Revolution has two radios, one for good ol’ CDMA/EvDO, one for LTE – as demonstrated by having two networks listed in phone status (this seems to be in agreement with the fact that integrated chipsets haven’t been available until very recently)
- Apparently instead of having a properly integrated radio firmware that “abstracts” the two chips into a single entity, LG “patched” LTE on top of the old radio interface layer; it is unclear how “close to the surface” of the Android architecture this hypothetical patch gets, but it’s sufficient to wreak havoc in the APIs used by JD. However if this is the case it seems strange that the Froyo radio firmware didn’t have these issues – why would LG make things worse… more -

Wakelock With WiFi Schedule
Motorola Triumph, CM7.2(GB2.3.7), JD Ultimate 3.9.4, AOSP (forced)
WiFi control enabled toggles WiFi connectivity per schedule; however, even when JD disables WiFi, phone never enters Deep Sleep. Disabling WiFi (user) entirely allows Deep Sleep.
Note: Normally (without JD installed) with this ROM, enabling BT and/or WiFi will wakelock the phone; disabling both manually via Power Control Widget or settings checkboxes allows the phone to enter Deep Sleep when screen is turned off.

Three things I'd like to address (Bug, Bug and Suggestion/Question)
Hej, I'm using Juice Defender Plus on my SGS2. I've run into three "problems" I'd like to address:
1) The settings for the quick box (disable it, in my case) revert every time I open the settings, rendering this feature kind of useless.
2) Under Night-Schedule the button "Airplane" reverts to "off" every time I open the settings, also rendering this kind of useless.
3) I'm using the location-based WiFi. While it works quite nicely when I'm at home or other places I trained JD to connect wo WiFi, it's kind of annoying that every time I turn on the… more2 votesunder review ·

Hey there
1) Known bug, we are on it
2) Cant reproduce it.. Please uninstall JD/Utlimate, reboot, delete the backup file in your download folder, install JD & Ultimate (do NOT restore settings!) and try again. Does the problem still occur?
3) I am now sure I understand the problem 100%: When does JD turn Wifi on? When you are miles away from trained locations? Is the training done 100%? What does the log say when this happens? -
Galaxy S2 Juice Defender 3.8.0 Ultimate - Wakeup Problem
Got the Galaxy S2 and Juice Defender 3.8 ultimate. Since then, after every night, my phone won't wake up. i have to hold down the power button and restart it. Then I can see in the Battery overview, that my phone tries to wakeup since hours and so the battery is draining really fast in this time. I've read in another forum that juicedefender causes this problem. Have you already heard of that? are you fixing this in the next version?

JD disables WiFi and 3G even when traffic is moving above threshold.
I'm running JD 3.9.4 on an EVO 4G with Cyanogen 7.2 rc1 (Gingerbread).
I set the threshold to 1KB/5s, 2min on WiFi and 3G and lined up 10 podcasts to download. After 2 minutes, JD kills connectivity and Doggcatcher attempts and fails to download the remaining podcasts.
I have not found a workaround I'm happy with, but for now I have 4PM as my peak hour with all radios on, which coincides with Doggcatcher's automatic update. Unfortunately, Doggcatcher checks for episodes throughout the day and can't maintain a connection to allow new episodes to come in during off-peak hours.
I… more

Multiple Peak times over a day
Commuting with public transportation every day is a hassle. Thankfully some Smartphone's apps allow to check (automatically) for train delays and such. I would therefore prefer more than one peak time a day for stable connection, e.g. one in the morning and another one in the afternoon. To get every apps bit of information can save a lot of frustration ;)
Right now i am using the weekend settings set to mon-fri for an additional evening peak, but that can't be the answer :-)
So, two or more peak times during a day would be just wonderful!
Thanks!

Wifi disables with 'keep on wifi' setting
I am on 3.9.4beta and have the following enabled settings with UJ:
controls: Wifi (Auto disable), AutoSync (Ping)
keep on: Wifi
locationnothing more.
As you see I only use JD to manage my wifi based on location and keep it enabled if available, but sometimes wifi automatically disables if screen goes off while the rooter is in 1-2m distance. In the wifi advanced settings I have 'Keep Wifi on during sleep' set to Always and if I disable JD it keeps connected.
imho the 'keep on wifi' setting is not 100% working. do you need any more details to… more13 votes -
Individual cpu setting for each application
It would be neat to be able to set differents cpu settings depending on each application or game. I have some games , mainly zenonia 4, which are quite cpu intensive and thus, if I don't set the minimum clock to around 600-800mhz on my galaxy tab 10.1, the game lags a bit which is pretty annoying. But if I set the frequency to a minimum of 800mhz, it drains the battery more outside of the game which is pretty annoying :(
Would be awesome if such a feature existed :-)

button in quickbox for keep wifi enabled
would be extremely handy for those times you want to finish an im conversation or surfing between non phone related activities
even better if it opened a popup of time options.. eg 5 mins, 10 mins, 15 mins, 20 mins, 30 mins, 60 mins, until further notice, while at this location
I have done this manually using timeouts and location adjustments, but they are temporary needs and then I must remember to set them back to normal ... which makes this perfect for the quick box :)

JD Disables Data Connectivity (3G). Requires restart to fix. [Nexus Galaxy]
I am in an area that does not have LTE service yet. So far it has happened when the battery level is high (over 50%)...probably would happen at low levels too. It happens randomly...I can have things working for several hours or several minutes before services are interupted/stopped. A reboot is required to fix. This seems very similar to reports posted for the LG Revolution. I am running Juice Defender Ultimate v. 3.8.0

extend learning algorithm for quickbox
I always tick the same buttons for certain applications. For example, when i start an browser, i soon turn off brightness control via quickbox, since i need more light to read. However there are only few such programs so it doesn.t make sense to increase brightness in total. Can you implememt an interactive mode for brightness, such as for wireless?
Also, can you implement a simple learning algorithm to let it adjust the behaviour from quick box? Like it auto. sets brightness hihger, if i ticked it couple times (for that application)6 votesunder review ·

Use VIP contacts
Turn the ringer off in sleep mode but be able to select specific contacts that are exceptions. For example; I would like my phone to ring at a loud volume if my wife or children call but ignore everyone else.

Battery Target Time
Juice Defender does a great job at maximizing battery life, usually doubling my battery life! A natural consequence of this is that my phone is slower to complete some actions (either through CPU scaling, data toggling, etc.) A very elegant approach to getting the best of both worlds, I think, would be to allow for target times - that is times you want your battery to last until.
For example, I know that I can plug my phone in by 7pm every day. By setting this as a target JD would scale the settings appropriately to make sure the battery… more

Hello, I have Juice Defender Ultimate running on a HTC Desire Z (Android Version 2.3.3) and ecountered the following problem : after a while mobile data doesn't connect anymore unless I restart the device. At the screen unlock it says Data On (Screen), but data doesn't start at all unless I restart the phone. Can you please offer a solution for this problem ? Otherwise I am forced to uninstall JD and I wouldn't want that because I am very pleased about how it performs. I am waiting your answer. 10x
