Location based schedules

I think your software is a really great product. I purchased the payment version as I really think it helps to improve battery consumption on android smartphones.

One of the most interesting features is the location related feat. I love that when I'm at home it connects through my wifi and switch off 3g. Another interesting feature should be to configure places with different behaviour. For example at work I don't need neither wifi neither 3g as I'm at pc all the time and I can check for my email on my netbook. This would help to improve drammatically the battery. If that's not possibile another great feature should be to have a more advanced scheduler (define for each day or group of days to switch on or off 3g and wifi). Hope to see those features soon!

Thank you very much for your great contribution to JuiceDefender. We are currently in the processing of creating a “final” version which means that new ideas for features will not immediately be considered. This does not mean JD’s development stops for ever.

What we will most likely implement is:
Keep on tied to location, so you can have wifi on in certain locations if you want to..
"Easy" solution for quite a lot of users.. the schedule thing seems "too" big at the moment

I understand that Breece. But I also believe that this feature shouldn't be *too* difficult...he's already got the framework for the capability. What I mean by that is that I am referring to how JD has been able to turn wifi off based upon network location. Easily he could take this existing code and use it as a guide for this feature.

Perhaps even we could make the ~existing~ feature I mentioned before smarter, by allowing JD to go a step further and turn off mobile data automatically when it's got wifi turned on because of a location based wifi trigger. Perhaps even let JD learn from when you turn mobile data on/off too, like wifi location triggering and it would be pretty cool. The easiest way to implement this would be to have a sort of soft-interlock, where you can turn wifi on and it turns mobile data off, and conversely when you turn wifi off, it turns mobile data on. JD could use the same basic network location cues to "learn" when to perform this sort of interlock switching automatically too, especially in situations where other triggers aren't active and overriding them to both be off...like for example when your screen is on. Additionally network location cues can be gathered whenever you turn on your screen...and JD can "learn" when/where you most often tinker with your phone...giving you a chance to "Train in peak time/places"

I assume that location based wifi configuration is included ?
(for example: keep wifi on at home and off and work)

I want to have per location option to keep wifi on (not global one).

Is vote counting right now enough ?

Both hands up from me for this one. Two scenarios where this is very useful:

        1. Some wifi setups use a web-based login to get access. With JD disconnecting my wifi at intervals, I need to log in several times which is a pain. Ability to set those locations to wifi-always-on means I could stay logged in.

        2. I currently use a peak schedule for work, but as I may be at different locations and/or working different times it makes more sense to use location.

That would seriously be a nice feature. I was thinking of it being being handy for to know when and when not to use wifi but come to think of it thats in a way already built in not? (only got this ultimate for a few hours yet:-) ).

Wouldn't know how but it would be nice if it knew I am in my car for it to use bluetooth for the handsfree kit...

Location based changes would be great.there are other apps that do this but not well. Please add it!

i have a two week cycle of work, 3 day weekends then 1 day weekends. this is all in my google calendar, but a simple way to have it in JD would be to have the app draw data from the system calendar. look for a specific event (work) and set a particular profile during that time (data on 1m, off 2h, no wifi), which would revert to a different profile when the event ends (back to normal 10m cycles).
