Razr data connectivity issue
First, let me say many thanks for making my last phone's battery manageable for about 1.5 years. I recently upgraded to a VZ Motorola Razr and shortly after upgraded to JD Ultimate. Unfortunately JD is giving me issues with the new Razr.
More often than not, when I turn the screen on, the phone is very slow to reacquire a data connection. Sometimes this takes several minutes before it begins to work, which is quite inconvenient at times, and always annoying. Putting the phone into airplane mode and back out again seems to resolve the problem sometimes, but not always. A restart seems to always work.
When the phone cannot get a data connection, disabling JD does nothing to help it. However, when I disable JD, the phone does not seem to lose the data connection in the first place. When I turn the screen on and begin to use it, the connection is there whenever I have tried.
Please take a look into this and see if you can sort it out. JD is too great of a tool not to use. Plus I just spent $5 on it! I am more than willing to gather whatever data/logs/etc you may need to assist in fixing this. Just let me know what you need!
Thanks!!
The time it takes to reconnect depends on the device and carrier, JD cant “speed up” this process..
BUT you can try the mobile data auto fix: Help tab
And well.. if you disable JD data should be “always on” thats the point of JD: Turning data off when you dont need it :)

I have a différent problème. When my screen turns off, Juice Defender makes the phone loose the signal. Instead it should disable Data!

the firmware change definitely helped with the problem. I now only have it once in a great while but never routinely.

Anyone still having the problem? What firmware are you on? A firmware update by your carrier should fix this..

Since upgrading from a Motorola Droid 1, I'm having much the same issue with my new Droid Bionic (actually upgraded to the RAZR first, but that was before JD and without a replaceable battery, I decided to pay the restocking fee and switch to the Bionic, plus an external battery charger and an extra battery).
The mobile data takes an inordinately long time to establish connection after the screen is turned on; once the screen goes off, the data shows once again disconnected when I turn the screen back on, no matter how short an interval it was off (e.g., the 30 second screen timeout -- eminently possible while reading an article).
Also, I am using the location feature to enable/disable Wifi, but I cannot keep it from attempting to make connections to arbitrary wifi hotspots. I only want Wifi enabled for specific locations, and not to keep trying to locate a hotspot every fifteen minutes or whenever screen is turned on.

@DonM - I've tried the 3G/4G toggle trick a few times. It works, but I've found both of the following to be faster: 1) toggle in and out of airplane mode, 2) use the "Restart Connections" app that can be found on Android Market.

For anyone with a Razr that is having this problem you may want to try this alternative to having to turn your phone off with JD disabled to get back your data connection. I was able to get it back by changing by 4G mode back to 3G (In the Mobile Network Settings switching from CDMA/LTE to CDMA )Only then switching it back. (Or vice versa if you were already in 3G mode. ) No this is not a long term fix but I have a fre widget that lets me toggle the setting fairly quickly and it is much faster then the other reboot options I have seen mentioned here until JD can be updated to not have the issue. Can anyone else confirm that this works for them?

I also should've mentioned that I have tried the mobile data autofix under the help tab and it doesn't seem to do anything at all to help speed up the reconnection process.

I'm using JD Ultimate on my Razr and am having the same issue. It takes anannoyingly long time to get my connection back after I turn the screen on. Please try to fix this! Your program is great otherwise, but this is really interfering with the usability of my phone.

I bought the RAZR too last week. I'm using JD since my first Android phone. First in Moto Backflip, then Samsung Galaxy Ace. Both it worked very fine, but at Razr I'm having some issues too. I believe the conection is ok, but I stoped to receive e-mails, even with mails pending for reading at the mailbox. I don't know why this is occuring, but when I disabled JD, the e-mail software works fine.

Using a Razr here myself. Stock ROM not rooted and the data connectivity works properly most ofthe time. Occassionaly the Data will not re-enable as quickly as I would like but the data always comes back in within a minute or so. I am using the BETA version of JD Ultimate.

I'm having the identical issue. I've gone through and reset all of the settings in order to ensure I can get data connection when I need it but it does not work. I'm forced to disable JD, restart the phone and then I can browse when I want. I think this product is quality, but I didn't buy your product to make the best phone on the market worthless. I bought your product to male my phone better. It is not doing that right now. Please update for razor.

I should have added that this happens for both regular and beta versions of JD.
