UPDATE: v3.6.8 is out (latestdev) with a brand new Location algorithm. For the sake of testing, please clear all your locations (or try the new view/auto-reset) and restart from scratch :)
Training works as before (conceptually) but the uber-expansion should be prevented in most cases.

      Ah, that’s interesting! (@Bubo)
This is what I mean by “location gets polluted by stray readings” – for whatever reason (ahem radio firmware bugs) the normal cell kicks out the phone, which then connects, even if for only a couple of seconds, to a cell much farther away; in the long term this will result in pitiful Location accuracy.

So, some possible ways to circumvent this:
      - have an option to set lat/lon/accuracy manually
      - have a manual ‘freeze’ button for each location that would prevent further “expansion”
      - have a global “max radius” option for all locations
      -… more

I keep pressing "training" every time I get home, but it says 0% trained. Not sure what the settings should be and when to press "training" in order to get it trained. Any suggestions?

I left the house and returned. I waited for a wile and checked the phone. The WiFi had not been activated. I'll keep pressing the training button, but I'm not sure exactly when or how often I should do that. When I press "options," the "training" button is not illuminated. I press it and it lights up for a second, then goes off. Not sure if I'm doing any good. Any suggestions?

This morning, under Location, there was a "force complete training" button. I pressed it. Now, under my network name, it says, "Radius: 50m - Avg. accuracy: 50m - 1 APs." So, next time I leave the house, I'll see if it works. Looks promising!

I have recently started "playing" with this again. Each time I come home, the WiFi has not been activated, so I turn it on, then go to the JDU location controls and press the Training button. Suddenly, I noticed that it now says "training 50%" instead of "training 50%" as it has for months. In the phone's Location settings, I have only "VZW location services" checked. I'll keep at it and let you know what happens.

OK, I think I get it. It seems that my home WiFi has been "trained." I'll try the procedure on other WiFi locations. Question: You say to turn on GPS while training. After I train a site, do I have to have GPS on all the time in order for JDU to recognize the location? On the Triggers tab, under Location, it says it doesn't use battery draining GPS to determine the current location. What does it mean when it says (training 0%) next to the SSID? -- Thanks.

Under Triggers -> Location, I have are "enable" and "disable." Enable is illuminated. When I press the Enable button, I get a message saying "Use wireless networks" must be enabled in order to use LOCATION. Must I have GPS enabled only in order to train? I found the "train" button, but how is it related to an APN? I thought WiFi would be activated when I'm within range without regard to application. I guess I don't understand the relationship among all of the settings. Exactly what settings have an effect on the JD's management of WiFi?

Thanks, I think I'm getting there. I turned on GPS and "trained." The accuracy according to the "view" screen was greatly improved.

Hmmm. I thought I waa pretty familiar with the app, but I don't recall ever seeing a "Training" button. I just went thru the screens again and didn't see it. Can you tell be where to find it?

I redo it every time I notice that it doesn't connect like it should. I assume that by "training" you mean to connect manually, right? Early this afternoon I came home from running errands and put the phone on my desk while I was outside working. It was there for about 4 hours. I just came in and checked the phone - no WiFi. I had to turn it on manually. When I did, several emails hit the phone, so I assume that Data was off, as it should have been if WiFi had been on.
